The ingredients needed to make Peas Pulao:
  1. Take 1 cup pulao rice
  2. Get 1 cup green peas
  3. Get 2 tbsp ghee or oil
  4. Make ready 1 tsp cumin seeds
  5. Make ready 1 onion sliced or chopped
  6. Make ready 1/2 inch ginger finely chopped
  7. Get 2 green chillies chopped
  8. Make ready 10 cashews
  9. Take 2-3 tsp raisins
  10. Prepare 1 inch cinnamon stick
  11. Take 3-4 cardamoms crushed
  12. Prepare 4-5 cloves
  13. Take 1/2 tsp pepper corns
  14. Make ready To taste salt
  15. Take 1 tsp sugar

Steps to make Peas Pulao:
  1. Wash and soak rice at least for 30 minutes. Drain and keep aside.
  2. Heat ghee in a cooking pot. Add cashews and raisins. Saute for a minute. Then add bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, pepper corns and cumin seeds. Saute till they turn aromatic.
  3. Add sliced onion, ginger, green chilli and fry till onion turns translucent.
  4. Add green peas and saute for one minute.
  5. Add 2 cups of water, salt and let it all come to a boil.
  6. Once the water starts boiling, add the soaked rice and stir once. Add 1 tsp sugar. Cover and cook on a medium heat for 15 minutes or until the water is absorbed.
  7. Once the rice is done, add 1-2 tsp ghee and fluff up with a fork. Allow to rest for some time.
  8. Garnish peas pulao with a few finely chopped carrot,mint and coriander leaves. Serve hot with raita or any curry.
