Steps to make Butter Cookies:
  1. mix butter and sugar in a bowl and beat it till light and fluffy.
  2. add egg and vanilla essence to it
  3. in a separate plate mix flour and baking powder and sieve it so that it mixes well
  4. add the flour mixture and salt to the batter in the bowl
  5. prepare the dough and refrigerate for atleast 1 hour
  6. preheat the oven at 200°F
  7. if butter paper is not available prepare the oven tray for baking. apply a little oil to it evenly and sprinkle flour on.it..make sure that flour spreads evenly
  8. mould the cookies using hand or a cookie cutter.
  9. place the cookies on the tray and bake it till it is light golden
  10. cool them on cooling racks
