  1. Take Half a cup of oil or as required
  2. Prepare 3 medium onions finely sliced
  3. Take 2 cans chick peas
  4. Prepare Optional sliced green chillies or to your taste
  5. Make ready Handful chopped coriander
  6. Take 1 teaspoon Turmeric/Haldi powder
  7. Prepare 1 teaspoon Coriander/Dhaniya powder
  8. Take 1/2 teaspoon Cumin/Jeera powder
  9. Prepare 1/2 teaspoon optional Chilli powder or to your taste
  10. Get 3/4 teaspoon salt or to your taste

  1. On a medium flame heat oil in a pan. Add the onions, salt, optional green chillies & stir. Sauté the onions on a low to medium flame until they completely soften & the colour is of a light golden brown.
  2. Add 1 teaspoon of Turmeric/Haldi powder, stir for ½ minute. Add ½ teaspoon of Cumin/Jeera powder, ½ teaspoon of optional chilli powder, 1 teaspoon of Coriander/Dhaniya powder. Stir in the contents & cook for 5 minutes stirring to ensure that it doesn't burn or stick to the pan.
  3. Add the chickpeas and stir in. On a low to medium flame leave to cook for another 5 minutes stirring occasionally. Add the chopped coriander, stir and take off heat.
